Nice of you to read, Chris. It was really just a trial balloon of a post. I am not yet engaged, and the piece is just meh but whatever. No, deleting the 90s didn't really help get me a job.

This is great and makes me half-want to do the opposite -- to lard the ancient part of my resume with the parts that were truly awful about those jobs because from what I can tell nobody ever reads that far down on it anyway, not even me.
